About the Event

Part of the Future of Work Institute (FOWI) Practice Academy Series

Industry engagement and demand-driven research can be a challenging space for researchers to navigate. We're often faced with questions like:

  • How can we balance client needs and research needs?
  • How can I present otherwise complex data and results to a non-expert audience?

Moreover, there is often not a single correct way to tackle these questions and challenges.

In this session, Karina and Belinda will introduce the FOWI Practice Academy - an initiative that aims to build a community of practice around the shared interests and challenges that come with engaging in demand-driven research. FOWI Practice Academy will provide a vehicle for sharing our collective experiences, supporting one another on our learning journeys, and building our own skills and expertise.

To kick off this first session, we will take a closer look at how we translate our data for clients. We'll collectively explore and discuss ways of presenting cross-sectional survey data by looking at some past examples. Lastly, we will draw on your interests and knowledge to help decide the direction of future sessions.

FOWI Practice Academy welcomes attendees from all levels of industry engagement experience and maturity. From those that may be venturing into their first engagement, to those that have been tackling demand-driven research for a long time.

RSVP your attendance to fowi-admin@curtin.edu.au and let us know your preference (in-person or online)
